If you find yourself with only 48 hours to spare in this beautiful region, fear not, as we have crafted a comprehensive itinerary to make the most of your limited time.

Day 1: Unveiling Nature’s Beauty

Morning: Start your day with a traditional Irish Breakfast in the Pilot’s Nook Takeaway to fuel you for the busy day ahead. Following breakfast, come to our office so that our staff can provide you all the information you need to make your trip to Fermanagh unforgettable. Once you have all the information you need, head to the Marble Arch Caves Global Geopark, a UNESCO-listed location that offers an unforgettable underground adventure. Join a guided trip to discover the breath-taking limestone caverns, flowing rivers, and other-worldly rock formations.

Afternoon: Treat yourself to a leisurely cruise on the serene waters of Lough Erne. Castle Archdale Boat hire company provide several boat tours and water activities for all the family to enjoy. Choose from kayaking, canoeing or try our Hydro-Bikes to really get the full experience of Lough Erne. Breathe in the fresh air as you glide past ancient islands and historical sites and take in the breathtaking views of Fermanagh.

Evening: After working up an appetite, the perfect place to try is our Restaurant in the Pilot’s Nook. Serving a wide range of dishes, there is something for everyone to enjoy. After your food, enjoy the live music in the bar, whilst enjoying a drink to finish your night.

Day 2: Immersing in History and Culture

Morning: Begin your day with a scenic walk around the beautiful grounds of Castle Archdale Country Park. This 1,000 acre park is filled with walking trails and cycle trails, allowing you to take in the natural beauty of Castle Archdale. Start at the marina and walk all the way to the lighthouse, taking a minute to read the history behind each historical landmark. Continue on the path, which will bring you to the Courtyard. From there, you can go to the War Museum, where you can find out more about the history of Castle Archdale. Here, you can learn about the historical ruins and where they are located – for another adventure you can embark upon. If you feel up to the challenge, you can follow the path to ‘Old Castle Archdale’. This path weaves it’s way along the shoreline, providing picturesque views of Lough Erne as you go. This path takes you directly to the old castle ruins, which you can explore around.

Afternoon: When you arrive back to the campsite from your walk, stop at the Flying Boat Shop and treat yourself to an Ice-Cream, Crepe or Milkshake to replenish the energy stores! Take time to walk around the shop and look at our new Castle Archdale Merchandise which is made by a local company here in Fermanagh. Ranging from wooden coasters and keyrings, they are the perfect present for a family member, friend or one for yourself to take home as a memory of your stay at Castle Archdale.

Evening: For a serene end to your Fermanagh experience, relax at your caravan with your family and friends around a BBQ! Our shop provides all the essentials for your perfect summer BBQ. Relax around the fire, telling jokes and enjoying the time with family. To finish the evening, join us in our Teepee, where we show Movie Nights every evening at 7pm for all the family to enjoy. Relax with a bag of popcorn and enjoy the movie – giving you the perfect end to your day.
